A Christmas in France
It has been a while since our last post. We needed some time to rest and recuperate from those amazing days spent with our french family and friends. These 15 days that went way to fast.
With the help of my dad and my brother-in-law we surprised both my sister and my mom who had no idea we were coming to France for Christmas!!!!! My sister lives in Versailles just outside of Paris so once my brother in law picked us up at the airport we went to meet her (without her knowing it) in a coffee shop. we were already enjoying some nice french dessert and coffee when she arrived. She saw me, and i could see in her eyes that she recognized me but did not think it was weird and then it hits her " My sister is here in France". Has this happened to you before? when it would be so impossible for something to happen that when it is in front of you, you do not process???
It was amazing to see my sister and finally my niece for the first time!!!!!!!!
My dad and mom leaves in Lyon (4 hours south of Paris by car) and we would not see it for another 4 days at this point but my dad did not want more to let my mom know so we took a group picture of all of us and send it to my mom without any explanation. And for whatever reason, upon seeing the pic she first thought that it was my sister who had took the plane to join us in California!!!!! We laughed a lot that night.
Two days with my sister then visiting two of our closest friends Anne Sophie and Yacine and their baby girl.
We walked around Paris for a day. We did not want to do tourism but just see how favorite sights like Montmartre or The Champs Elysees.
Finally we took the road to join my parents and the rest of the family. My sister and her family joined us the following weekend so that we could all spend Christmas together. We spent is at my parents country home, in the middle of french vineyard (a fact that Joseph loves!).
Some more pictures ...
The last but not the least ... One of my favorite meal of all time ... Steak Tartare!!! For those friends on facebook you can watch the entire making of it on this video :
And it was already the end of Christmas Holidays in France ... till next time!
