Baby's Room!!!

We are finally done with the baby's room update! We went from nasty carpet and white walls to dark wood floors and two tons walls. Really calm and peaceful.

Joseph's Retirement Video

Here is the Video from Joseph's Retirement Ceremony. Some have asked so I am saying it again. This ceremony is entirely dedicated to Joseph.

Some of my favorite Moments:

42min15sec: They gave Joseph his shadow box and his sailors gave him a surprise gift

43min39sec: they start the explanation of Old Glory and the Flag  is passed from the youngest sailor to the highest ranking to Joseph.

Thanksgiving has come and gone and we have decorated our Christmas tree. 

Joseph's Retirement

Joseph is officially retired from the Navy!

Friday was the day! Joseph retired from the Navy after 20 years!!! Lots of tears and good times that day!
We videotaped the ceremony so once editing is done we will share with everyone.

At the end of the ceremony Joseph went "ashore", representing his retirement as he walked through a row of no less than 50 chiefs!

IT"S A BOY!!

Next March 2014 we will welcome a little BOY in our family! it's official!

Long time No see

It's been a while I haven't post on our blog. It is the calm before the storm ... or so it feels like it. Joseph's retirement is next week!!! Family and friends are coming to town to join us during this great time.

Also ... next week, 7 days from now, we will know if this little french bean of ours will be a little girl or a little boy.

Riley is in UC Davis!!! Go Aggies!

It's been a while since I updated our blog. Well now is the time ... last week we drove Riley to UC DAVIS!!!! Go Aggies! It was a longer trip than expected due to the fact that we were pulling a really large trailer. No, it was not full of Riley stuff. It was empty on the way up as we were planning on picking up Dave's 1967 Mini for Joseph to restore.

At UC Davis we met Riley's Roomate and visited the campus. Pretty nice campus, cars are not allowed on campus, only bicycles!!

After leaving Riley, Joseph and I drove up to WA to visit family and friends. Thank you Heather and Jame for letting us crash on your floor, Thank you Keith for joining us for a fun diner, Thank you for all the Showalter family for welcoming us, Thank you Dave and Dawn for cooking a nice meal for us and helping us with the mini.

Comic Con Crazyness

Thanks to a colleague I got two free tickets to the Comic Con San Diego.

It was our first time there and it was crazy. Thousands and thousands of people participate each year and some even stay overnight in front of the doors to make sure they access the TV show panel they want to see.

July 4th Weekend

Great 4th of July Weekend with friends and family. Watch Oceanside Firework wednesday evening with Rachel. Joseph and I went to the Del Mar Fair and enjoyed a fun evening with Stacey and Sean. This weekend Joseph was able to finish his work on a friend's truck and it is finally running. We celebrated our friend Darryl Birthday at Mother Earth Brewery followed by The Compass (Carlsbad). Finally Joseph and I ended the weekend on a movie date watching the new Superman "Man of Steel". Great weekend!
