Joseph Texas bound in November .. Award Recipient

The whole family has been receiving Great and Amazing news this week :

Joseph got notified that he had been chosen to be nationally recognized as theYC Parris Young Federal Healthcare Executive  of the Year by The American College of Federal Healthcare Administrators. He will receive his award on November 13th in San Antonio, Texas. Joseph has been a member of the AAMA (American Association of Medical Administrators) since May 2011 and has published two papers with their journal:

Paper 1: Navy Combat Medicine: Taking PHTLS To The Fight
Paper 2 : Effective Leadership and its Impact on Employee Satisfaction

He applied for this award earlier this year. Each military branch chooses among all the candidatures one champion and then only one will be the Award Recipient: JOSEPH!!

Yep!!! The little frenchy played hard and put as much as  .... 60 dollars on the roulette :) Well .... beginner's luck I walked with $100.

Riley is officially working !!!

Riley, on top of being part of NHS, secretary of the Senior Council, Intern at KOCT, being an AP Scholar, has found a job as a Birthday Host at Chucky Cheese!!! She has already worked two days this past week and is scheduled for 4 days this coming week!!! She got her first tip on Friday evening!!

And on top of all that she is taking amazing pictures with her AP Class ... Just saying ... she is  our little cutie!

Riley is moving ...

With our help, Riley moved her bedroom to her old improved bedroom (new floor, window and walls). She loves her girly room!!!

So much happened since school started!

Riley has started an amazing year! She just received her AP Scholar  with Distinction Award in recognition for all the AP classes she passed last year!!! She is part of NHS, is the secretary of the senior class, works on the prom committee  and just started as an intern at KOCT, the Oceanside Community Television.

Her first day at KOCT was pretty intense as she was behind the camera on a live shoot!!! 

Riley got to enjoy a Trip to Universal Studio last Saturday!!!!!

What's up so far in August ?

Here are some news from the Crain's & guests ...

August has been pretty busy here: Joseph is getting ready to graduate with his MBA in Healthcare Administration and his new job keeps him at work past 6pm; Spencer juggles with two jobs: one at a sushi restaurant The Love Boat and one at Petco and find times to work on his BMW project, Riley has been working at the Church Vacation Bible School Camp, baby sitting for Stacey, and getting ready for senior year, and as for me, just keep going to the gym and loosing the extra pounds, enjoying my job and the guests  I can meet at the tv station. It's been really hot for a couple of days ... well it's California! so no surprise there! And one last thing! We finally got our stamped concrete on our patio!!!! Thanks to Carlos and his crew!

Riley spent the week helping at our church VBS (vacation bible school). Bunch of kids from 5 years old to 14 years old!!! lots of dancing and singing and projects done this week!

And also we had the pleasure to have Stacey's kids staying with us for the week so they can attend VBS!!!

New Weight Goal

I reached the 160lbs mark! Yes! 26lbs down! 30 more to go! It feels amazing and I encourage everyone  out there to clean up their food, to stop fast food and junk food (isn't it the same??), to take 30min to an hour every day and work out. It can be walking, running, swimming, dancing, jumping .... a combination of all. Or you can go further and use weight.

OK I don't look that great on the picture and I am not a model but I love to see the difference between three months ago and NOW!

Sophie Helen had friends over these past weeks ... Wine testing, beach day, Julian pie, and in betwen they went to the Grand Canyon, Joshua tree park, Zion, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Los Angeles ...
