Doors and Hood

Joseph put back doors and hood on the Riley Elf yesterday. Also prepared the fitting for the chrome. A little more body work, one step at a time ... closer to completion.

Building a pantry / kitchen storage

Since I had this bad water damage on the kitchen last summer, I lost like half of my storage. 2 doubles cabinets and one single cabinet. So I ended up storing food and ustensils in the garage. This mix with dog and cat  ... Not good. So here is my new project : turning the cabinet under the stairs into a pantry / kitchen storage.

Highland Games

San Diego Highland Games were organised in Vista yesterday and we had the pleasure to spend a nice sunny/hot afternoon walking in the park, watching games, listening to bagpipes, having fun with Stacey and Sean. Here are some pictures and video of the day.

What a mess one accumulates in a few years. The last two days I took care of organizing all the pictures we had in the house. And now they are all where they are supposed to be. Along with organizing our Craft Cabinet.

Renaissance Fair in Corona

Last Saturday we went to the Renaissance Fair in Corona. A permanent Village has been built there in Corona. Our little group, Stacey, Sean and his kids (Page and Reese), Joseph and myself enjoyed the sunny and hot afternoon watching jousting, eating turkey leg, trying on mead, helping the kids in their treasure hunt ...

Watch it for the first time

I just watched "The Giving Tree" for the first time and I cried my eyes out.  Joseph has been talking about it last week and I wanted to see for myself! I could not stop crying from the firs time the tree gave him her apples till the day he sat on the trunk! Such a beautiful story of unconditional love from the tree to this boy.

Meatballs ... First time at the Crain's house

So despite all my bad opinions concerning Meatballs I decided to try to cook some for Joseph and Riley and I actually liked it! They like it too!

Tuna Melt ... Not so bad!

Tried a Tuna Melt for lunch. Quite good but I definitively need to NOT put walnuts. So here's what you need. Mix two tunas, hard boiled egg (one per person), 1/4 oignon (or more if you like), 2 or 3 spoons of Mayo, some mustard according to your taste and whatever spices / salt / pepper ... you want. and FORGET the walnuts

Riley & the Riley Elf

Sunday Afternoon, Joseph is finished with his class paper. He is now working on the Riley Elf and Riley joined him for the occasion. Joseph is showing her how to prep the car for the paint job. They are grinding and sanding the car down. Nice Father-Daughter quality time ... Even if Riley don't realize that yet :).

 

50 years For Darlene and Jerry

Our friends Darlene and Jerry were celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary this Saturday! They eloped at 17 to get married (Darlene's dad would not agree to her dating Jerry) and 50 years after, 2 sons and a lot of grandchildrens, they are still loving each other deeply. 

Jerry " We can't stand each other but we love each other so much!"

Darlene: "sniff sniff sniff ..." 

I could not hear what she said ... Darlene could not stop crying, the surprise of seeing friends and family together was too overwhelming. They had no idea that this was organised for them. Long time friends, church friends, family ...

In this little book was shown their high school year book pictures, the story of how they met, and even the purchase receipt for the engagement ring he bought 50 years ago ... $10.00!!!

Summer Break

Riley is on Summer break as of Today! Not 100% sure about Riley's plan but it involves playing X-Box, Going to the beach and the Del Mar Fair, Searching for a job, Fun time with Friends and Family.
